Directions for laundry:

Add 1 tbsp. for a standard (top loading) washing machine or use a cotton muslin sachel to contain powder.

Low suds for H.E. (front loading washers) add only 1/2 tbsp. powder per large load or mix into a liquid.

Best results with warm/hot water (40-60C).  

For excellent results, soap nut powder can also easily be made into a liquid multi-purpose cleaner.

How to make a liquid:    

1. Quick and easy method - mix 1/2 tbsp. soap nut powder in warm water, shake to disslove.   

2. For a concentrated liquid - add 1-2 tbsp. powder to a pot of water, bring to a boil, stir, let cool, store in fridge. 

3. For greater clarity, especially when using a spray bottle, filter soapnut powder through the muslin bag or use a mesh coffee filter.  Powder can be reused or emptied into compost.

4. For rich foam, use a mixer in a wide mouth container or dispense with a foaming pump.

5. In a bucket, add 1tbsp. and mix under tap or with spray nozzle.
