Laura Daub of EnviroChic Design is an artist living in Ottawa, Canada who applies 20 years of study and practice in art, illustration and design into her mixed-media/paper collage.

Laura is also an environmentally-conscious, socially responsible person and has her 14 year-old daughter to thank for initiating her proactive stance on enviro-friendly living.

We can learn from our children that everyone can easily do their small part in helping our environment, from making a commitment to purchasing one enviro-friendly product at the grocery store each week, buying local, organic products or energy saving light bulbs, cutting out chemical-based cleaners, or setting up a chic recycling station in your home. Every little bit helps and we really do not have to sacrifice chic design for being enviro-friendly.

Artist’s Statement

Art, illustration, design and creativity are always at the foremost of my thoughts and I have found I am able to focus on my daily inspiration with mixed-media/paper collage. Handmade papers, ink, acrylics, calligraphy and different lettering styles are layered on watercolour paper, canvas or wood for engaging textural effects. In each series, my focus is purely on eye-pleasing design, emulating striking colour combinations incorporated throughout the arts, fashion and design. I believe we should all endeavor to have a content, inspired soul and a healthy environment to live in. I strive to reflect this in my work.
